Delivery Terms

Getting flowers to someone in the next neighborhood is simple enough. Getting them across a border or into a completely different region pulls in a lot more variables: local florists, regional delivery customs, courier handoffs, address formats, and whether the recipient will actually be there to receive it.

This page walks through how delivery works at MyGlobalFlowers, what we need from you to make it happen, and what tends to happen if any of those details need to be sorted out along the way.

How Delivery Works

Once an order comes through, we send it to a florist close to the recipient whenever we can. The florist puts the bouquet, arrangement, or gift together and then hands it off to a courier for delivery.

The responsibilities break down pretty simply:

  • the florist prepares the order and checks it over before handoff;
  • the courier takes care of the actual delivery;
  • you provide the recipient information needed to get it there;
  • our support team steps in if anything needs clearing up along the way.

We treat a delivery as complete once the order reaches the recipient, gets accepted by someone authorized to take it, is left in a safe spot where that makes sense, or is handled according to whatever local rules apply.

In real life, that does not always mean a face-to-face handoff at the recipient's door. If nobody is around, the courier might leave it somewhere secure, hand it off to a neighbor, leave it at the front desk, or bring it back to the florist. Which one makes sense depends on the location, local rules, and conditions that day.

One thing worth knowing for international orders: a fully anonymous surprise delivery is not always doable. In some countries, local practice calls for a heads-up to the recipient before the courier shows up. When that is the case, we keep the call short and skip the details of what is actually being delivered.

Delivery Options

Same-Day Delivery

Part of our catalog can go out the same day it is ordered, depending on the city, the product, the local florist's schedule, the recipient's address, and how early the order comes in.

The product page will show the cutoff time, and checkout will confirm what is actually available before you finalize anything.

Next-Day Delivery

Same-day is not available everywhere. Where it is off the table, next-day delivery might still work for select products.

What ends up available depends on the local partner, the specific product, and the recipient's address.

Scheduled Delivery

You can pick a delivery date at checkout. Most orders go out somewhere between 10:00 AM and 9:00 PM local time, though pinning down an exact hour usually is not possible.

Got a timing preference? Add it to the order comments, and couriers and local florists will try to work with it. Some areas have tighter delivery windows depending on workload, distance, and local conditions.

International Delivery

MyGlobalFlowers reaches more than 3,500 cities in 89 countries.

For international orders, the details matter even more than usual. Be sure to provide:

  • the recipient's full name;
  • a working local phone number in international format;
  • the complete delivery address;
  • apartment, floor, building, or access details where they apply.

If the city on the order does not match where the flowers are actually going, you could be looking at a delay or a change in delivery cost.

Delivery Costs and Extra Charges

The base delivery cost comes down to the recipient's address, the delivery zone, the product, and local delivery conditions.

Remote areas or anything outside our standard service zone may carry an extra delivery fee, and the final cost only gets locked in once the address is entered. A few situations can bring on extra charges:

  • the address is wrong or incomplete;
  • a second delivery attempt is needed;
  • the recipient is not around;
  • the address falls outside our standard coverage area;
  • the delivery address gets changed after the order is already placed.

Perishables like bouquets and food baskets need special handling. Same-day redelivery comes with an extra charge, and if delivery slides to another day, a new prep or delivery fee may apply depending on the product and what the local florist has to do.

What We Need from You

Clear recipient details are the best safeguard against delivery problems. At checkout, please include:

  • the recipient's full name;
  • the full delivery address, including apartment, suite, floor, or office number where relevant;
  • a local phone number in international format;
  • building access details the courier might need;
  • any delivery preferences or timing notes.

If key information is missing, our courier, florist, or support team will try reaching out to you or the recipient. When details cannot be confirmed, delivery gets delayed, and the order may sit with the florist until things are cleared up.

Product Variations and Substitutions

Product photos give you an idea of the style and overall look, but the actual bouquet can vary somewhat. Specific flowers, greenery, packaging, and decorative touches depend on the location, the season, and what the florist has in stock.

If a particular flower is not available, the florist may substitute something similar without checking with you first. The substitute should be worth at least as much and should stay true to the original style, color palette, and overall feel.

Gift baskets and add-ons work the same way. Individual brands or items might differ from what is pictured since availability shifts from country to country and city to city. The goal is always to keep the quality and value consistent with what was actually ordered.

Delivery Issues

Recipient Not Available

If the recipient is not around, the courier will go with whatever makes the most sense for that location and its rules. That could mean leaving the order somewhere safe, handing it to a neighbor, leaving it at the front desk, or bringing it back to the florist.

Redelivery typically comes with an extra fee and requires the recipient's availability to be confirmed. In some cases, picking the order up from the florist directly works too.

Incorrect or Incomplete Address

If the address is wrong or incomplete, the courier or our support team will try to get in touch with you or the recipient to nail down the right information.

If the address still cannot be confirmed, the order heads back to the florist. Wrong or incomplete addresses can mean delays, extra charges, or a delivery that just does not happen.

Courier Cannot Access the Building

Gates, intercoms, security desks, and similar access restrictions can sometimes keep the courier from reaching the recipient directly.

When that happens, the courier will typically try contacting the sender or recipient. No answer means the order goes back to the florist. Adding entry instructions to the order comments is the easiest way to avoid this altogether.

Special Delivery Situations

Some delivery locations need extra detail or run by their own internal rules, think hotels, hospitals, medical facilities, offices, gated buildings, and other restricted-access spots.

Before sending an order to a hotel or medical facility, it is worth confirming that the location actually accepts flowers, gifts, or courier deliveries.

For these deliveries, include full recipient details such as room number, department, reservation name, local phone number, or reception instructions, wherever applicable.

If the location declines, the recipient cannot be confirmed, or access is restricted, delivery can be delayed or sent back to the florist. Redelivery may need updated details and an extra fee.

Holidays and Peak Dates

Valentine's Day, Mother's Day, Christmas, and other major holidays put serious pressure on the florist and courier network.

Ordering ahead of time gives you a much better shot at delivery on the date you want. Last-minute orders can still go through, but options tend to be more limited during these busy stretches.

Some regions also run on their own business hours, holidays, or midday closures, so delivery there follows whatever the local florists and couriers can manage.

Frequently Asked Questions

What time will my order be delivered?

Most deliveries happen somewhere between 10:00 AM and 9:00 PM local time. We typically cannot guarantee an exact hour, but a timing note in the order comments will be taken into account.

Can I change the delivery date or time after ordering?

Reach out to support as soon as possible if you need to make changes after placing the order. Whether it is possible depends on the order status and what the local florist can still accommodate.

What if the recipient is not available?

The courier will choose whatever option fits the location best: leaving the order safely, handing it to a neighbor, leaving it at the front desk, or returning it to the florist. Redelivery comes with an extra fee.

Is delivery guaranteed on special occasions?

We always aim to deliver on the chosen date, but local conditions, demand, address accuracy, recipient availability, and courier routes can all factor in. Ordering early gives you the best shot at on-time delivery.

What happens if I entered the wrong address?

The courier or support team will try to confirm the correct address before sending the order back. If that does not work, the order returns to the florist, and fixing the address for redelivery usually comes with an extra charge.

Do you contact the recipient before delivery?

Not as a rule. We try to keep surprises intact wherever we can. That said, in some countries a heads-up call is standard practice. When that is needed, we keep it short and do not give away what is in the order.

Can the courier leave the order at the door?

Yes, as long as it is safe to do so and local rules allow it. If leaving it is not an option, the courier will weigh other choices or bring the order back to the florist.

Can I send flowers to another country?

Yes. MyGlobalFlowers covers more than 3,500 cities worldwide. What is available and how fast it arrives depends on the destination.
